Spence: Still All To Play For

Andy Spence previews the clash between Everton Ladies and Bristol City.

Everton travel to the Stoke Gifford Stadium to play Bristol City this weekend.

The hosts are second in the table and five points ahead with the Blue Girls in third place as the sides prepare to face-off on Saturday at 6pm.

However, Andy Spence’s side have a game in hand over Bristol City and Yeovil Town who currently occupy the promotion places.

“Our preparation has been exactly the same as always. It’s business as usual,” Spence said. “Whatever happens this weekend there are enough points to keep playing for.

“In football if you start writing yourself out of things, or think you have cracked it that’s when things can start to go wrong.

The Everton boss is keen to play down the significance of the trip to the Stoke Gifford Stadium because there will still be plenty of chances to break into the top two if his team come unstuck.

“We have to see this as just another game in an 18-game season, remain calm and do the things we always do. Every weekend we have expectations of winning, this weekend should be no different.

“They have a good home record as most teams do. But the pitch there is great if you want to play some football, so it should suit us.”
