Six Everton players will have a different focus this week as they meet up with England tomorrow to compete in their opening two UEFA Women's Euro 2013 qualifiers against Serbia and Slovenia.
The players will fly to Belgrade tomorrow in order to prepare for their opening game against Serbia on Saturday before travelling back to England to face Slovenia on Thursday at Swindon Town Fc.
Eighteen of the 22-strong group flew to Germany for the World Cup in the summer where England lost on penalties to France in the quarter final, while the National Coach has also found room for Everton duo Fern Whelan and Natasha Dowie, Chelsea’s Dani Buet and Birmingham City’s Rachel Williams, as the quartet have impressed of late in The FA WSL.
Left-back Claire Rafferty unfortunately misses out after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury while playing for Chelsea and a reoccurring Achilles injury means Kelly Smith will stay in America to rest. Anita Asante will also sit out this double-header due to a thigh injury.
