Blues Bag Brooks

Keeper joins on loan from Manchester City.

Everton Ladies have signed goalkeeper Alex Brooks on loan from Manchester City.

The young shot-stopper has been with the Citizens since the age of eight, making her debut in a Continental Cup win over Chelsea in 2014.

Having played the role of understudy to England keeper Karen Bardsley, Brooks will now spend the 2016 campaign with the Blues, and will compete with Kirstie Levell for the number one jersey.

Manager Andy Spence was delighted to add the highly rated Brooks. “Alex is a fantastic addition to our squad," he said. "Pleasingly we now have two fantastic young keepers in Kirstie Levell and Alex who will really push each other on and provide us with two excellent options for the season ahead.

“Alex has already shown in our conversations that she understands what we want from our players at the Club and I see her as someone who will be perfect fit to how we work and what we want.

“I would also like to thank Manchester City for working with us to provide this opportunity for Alex.”
