Everton Ladies boss Mo Marley reflected on a 'good day at the office' for her side as they returned to WSL action with a professional 2-0 win over Chelsea at Marine.
Goals either side of the break from midfielders Toni Duggan and Michelle Hinnigan gave the Blues the points in a game which saw the hosts domintate more and more as the afternoon went on.
Marley was pleased with the nature of Everton's second consecutive victory but insists there is more to come from her team in the remainder of the season.
"We've had a good game today, I'd say a good day at the office we're not setting the world alight but it's not about that," Marley told evertontv.
"It was about playing effectively, getting the points that we deserve, getting the result that we need and moving on from there.
"Today should be the platform and there's no reason why we can't build on this performance."
The win was the first of three home games in the space of a week for the Blues with local rivals Liverpool next-up on Wednesday before a showdown with title favourites Arsenal on Sunday (July 31).
And Marley believes it was important for the Blues to conserve their energy ahead of a busy period.
"We talked about managing the game and I think we did that, we've got a heavy schedule ahead and it was also very hot out there and I don't think people appreciate that," she said.
"Their players were cramping up a little bit and I thought a few of our players were looking tired by the end of the game.
"It's about managing today's game and getting the result, we want to put on a show and entertain but it's about balance and being realistic and we've got another important game on Wednesday."
