Striker urges fans to attend Wednesday's clash with Liverpool.
Everton Ladies striker Natasha Dowie hopes a large crowd will see an Everton victory in the Merseyside derby on Wednesday night.
Everton host Liverpool at Halton Stadium (7.30pm KO) looking to inject life into a stuttering start to the 2012 WSL season.
The Blues have won just one of four league games this term but their opponents are yet to get off the mark.
“Every game in the Super League is a big game but it’s always nice to have a derby game against Liverpool," Dowie told evertonfc.com.
"It’s more about pride when it comes to derby games and neither team has started as well as we would have liked so far this season so it’s going to be tough."
The WSL was introduced just over a year ago with the aim of garnering larger crowds for women's football by making it a summer league.
And Dowie knows there is no greater spectacle than a Merseyside derby.
“I am looking forward to it and the other girls are too so hopefully we can get a big crowd there to support us," she continued.
"We had over 1,000 supporters for our last game against Liverpool so it would be nice to have even more people there tomorrow and get the atmosphere going.
“I like night games because you have the build-up all day and it's at a nice stadium so hopefully that will make for a quality game of football for supporters to come and watch."
The Merseyside derby kicks off at 7:30pm on Wednesday (30 May) at Stobart Stadium Halton in Widnes and Blues fans can come along to support the girls for bargain prices – with tickets just £4 for adults, £3 for concessions (16-21 or over 65s) and £2 for juniors (under 16s).
A special adult and junior ticket is also available at just £5 and all tickets can be purchased at the gate.
